Etching/aquatint with metallic washi chine collé
I explored this new (to me) structure in Kumi Korf’s “Turning Leaves” box-making/bookbinding workshop at San Francisco Center for the Book. I love how architectural the structure can be and am still thinking about how I might integrate it with printmaking, illustration and narrative.
Artist’s book with 6 aquatints/etchings with hand coloring
Book created with four hand-printed etchings/aquatints with chine collé.
With six hand-watercolored etchings/aquatints
This is a hard-ground etching with watercolor added to plan out the next step, adding aquatint! It’s tentatively titled “The Smoke Catcher” and it’s for a show this summer called “The Love’s Still Here,” celebrating the Summer of Love in San Francisco.
